Lazy boyz

We've had a rough couple of weeks. Jude got sick and is still a little "snot factory." We had him on antibiotics and then Eli got a little cough. Dad ran the humidifier at night for 3-4 days in Eli's room and he started to sound better. With Jude's discomfort he started waking up between 2:30 and 3:30 every morning and taking a really long time to go back to sleep. Just last Tuesday night he woke up at 1:30 and didn't get back to sleep until 5:00. Which is really hard on mommy since she doesn't get off work until 11:00 (pm). Sleep is very precious to mommy.

After 10 days of antibiotics, we planned to take Jude in for his 1st flu shot, but he was running a fever again. 2 days later we managed to get him in for that shot. Thankfully, the last couple of nights Jude has managed to soothe himself back to sleep upon waking in the middle of the night and hasn't needed our help.

He's getting into everything now. Everytime you open the dishwasher, pantry or fridge, he's there. Then he gets very unhappy with you if you shut it before he gets there. He pulls himself up and only holds on with one hand. He loves to blow rasberries on any part of your body he can get to. His favorite time seems to be bath time. He's completely entertained by standing up next to the tub and watching Eli take his bath.

Eli is still the same dare-devil, dangerously curious boy he's always been. Last weekend we made a really big pile of leaves just for him to jump in. We also took the boys downtown for a carriage ride in the old market. It was pulled by a real live horse. Eli was quite impressed when the horse relieved itself at the stoplight. I'll have to admit I was quite astonished when I realized how much a horse's bladder could hold! Of course, in true Eli fashion, one of the first things he said when we got into the carriage was, "What's that smell, Mommy?" (He has an over-sensitive smeller.) On a really good note, Eli's teacher said he is behaving much better than he did last year at pre-school. We're quite relieved.

Now we just looking forward to seeing all of our family for the holidays!
