On Friday night, I was touched by the fact that Eli does understand and absorb more than we realize. I was putting him to bed. I was trying to hurry him along as I had had a rough day. I explained to him how mommy was feeling ill and I ached all over (I thought I was coming down with the flu. I was really serious about the body aches.)
He stopped and sat down on the bed next to me and touched my hand. In complete seriousness he said, "Jesus will heal you mommy."
I didn't know what to say. I just smiled. Then I told him he was exactly right and thanked him for reminding me. How cool is it to hear something like that from a (nearly) 5-year-old?
